As the annual commemoration of Black History Month begins today, the SCI community is encouraged to learn more about the central role and impact African Americans have in U.S. history. This sample of events below, shared by SCI's Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Rosta Farzan, is a brief list of programming organized at the University to consider attending:
- Virtual Film Screening: Descendant Wednesday, February 8 at 5:00 p.m.
- Race &... Lecture Series by Sirry Alang (School of Education) on "People, Contextss, & Systems: Intersections that Matter for Health Equity." Thursday, February 9 at 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- August Wilson's Seven Guitars Friday, February 17 at 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Lecture: "Black Star, Crescent Moon" Tuesday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Panel celebrating the life and work of August Wilson Wednesday, February 22 at 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
