Junyu Liu

Coming from University of Chicago & Caltech, Junyu Liu joined the Department of Computer Science as an Assistant Professor in the tenure stream in the quantum computing area. He has PhD research experience at the Walter Burke Institute for Theoretical Physics from Caltech, the Institute for Quantum Information and Matter from Caltech, and the University of Chicago as an IBM postdoc fellow with Chicago Quantum Exchange. Dr. Liu specializes in combining quantum physics and modern computer science, particularly in quantum technologies, machine learning, and cybersecurity. His research focuses on quantum computer systems, quantum machine learning, variational quantum circuits, quantum error correction, quantum optimization, quantum data centers, post-quantum cryptography and quantum networks.
