Jackie Speake Dwyer is an educator with 20+ years of experience in the field of education at the classroom, district and state levels. After graduating from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Jackie was a field biologist for almost ten years before she went back to school to get a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and changed careers. Prior to working at Pitt as a temp in the School of Computing and Information, Jackie worked with K-12 educators in her role as an independent consultant, specifically professional development around a cultural shift for student engagement and accountability; inquiry and standards-driven teaching and learning; and developing teacher leaders to scale systemic improvement for best practices and instructional pedagogy.
