Gabrielle Lee is the Japanese Cataloging Associate for the Libraries at The Ohio State University. Previously, Gabrielle worked at the University of Pittsburgh’s Asian Studies Center as both the Program Assistant and Japan Studies Assistant. At the Asian Studies Center, Gabrielle worked with K-12 educators to provide them East Asia-related professional development opportunities. Most recently, Gabrielle worked as a Teen Librarian at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh- Sheraden, where she worked with youth aged 11-19 providing programming, outreach, reference, and mentoring.
Gabrielle is a 2018 graduate of the School of Computing and Information with a Master’s in Library and Information Science. She also holds a BA in Japanese Language and Literature with a minor in Classics from Pitt (2017). During her career at the University of Pittsburgh, Gabrielle served as an undergraduate TA for Freshman programs for 3 years, completed an internship at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and Hillman Library, and studied abroad for a semester in Kobe, Japan. Before moving out of state, Gabrielle served as President of the Pennsylvania Black Librarians’ Caucus. She enjoys spending time with her cat, Eurydice and in her free time she freelances as a Japanese translator. In February 2024, Gabrielle became an Ohio State Notary Public.
