Meet SCI's 2024-2025 SCI Peer Advisors

December 9, 2024

As we reach the end of the fall 2024 semester, we want to take a moment to give a shoutout to SCI's Peer Advisors!

At SCI, providing students with guidance on how to navigate academics, career goals, and social life at Pitt is a priority. The SCI Peer Advising Center offers countless resources and peer advisors that help guide fellow undergraduate students to success, and these five advisors brought their expertise to the 2024-2025 year.

Paige Frank (SCI ’27)

Paige Frank is a sophomore majoring in information science with a minor in computer science. She is in the Minorities Association in Computing (MAC), Black Action Society (BAS), and volunteers with Girls Who Code at Pitt.

“Being a SCI Peer Advisor to me means guiding first-year students through their first year to help them achieve success,” said Frank. “My goal is to provide them with the opportunities and support they need to have a fulfilling and enriching college experience.”

Abby Feather (SCI ’27)

Abby Feather is a sophomore in the Frederick Honors College majoring in computer science. She is president of the Women in Computer Science Club (WiCS) at Pitt, is passionate about creating spaces and opportunities for women in the tech field, and volunteers at the Pitt Alumni Student Network. Outside of school, Feather loves to travel, eat delicious foods, play field hockey, watch Formula 1, and read mystery novels.

“I am excited to help students find their footing in college, learn how to overcome challenges they face, and watch them grow!”

Aidan Brophy (SCI ’26)

Aidan Brophy is a junior majoring in digital narrative and interactive design with a certificate in digital media and a planned minor in information science. He is interested in game design and interactive media creation. In addition to being a peer advisor, Brophy is a member of the Quo Vadis student organization, where he provides tours of the Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning. In his spare time, he can be found looking for a good study spot in the Cathedral, visiting the farmers market, or playing video games.

“I’m really excited to get the chance to help incoming students by giving them the advice I could have used when I was in their position, advice I either missed or didn’t consider important back then.”

Jessica Baek (SCI ’26)

Jessica Baek is a junior double majoring in computer science and data science. She serves as co-service chair in Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA), a service fraternity, and is in WiCS. Outside of school, Baek enjoys reading, trying new foods, and is currently learning how to cook.

“I am most excited to be working hands-on with first-year students, helping them settle into Pitt and sharing my own experiences that may help them feel a greater sense of belonging.”

Laura Liang (SCI ’27)

Laura Liang is a sophomore majoring in computer science with a minor in statistics. She is a member of the Computer Science Club (CSC), CASA Lotus, and she is the event coordinator for WiCS. In her free time, Liang enjoys drawing, listening to music, and solving puzzles. She hopes to explore more of the City of Pittsburgh this year.

“As a peer advisor, I am excited to meet new people and help those who are struggling with college decisions in general.”
