July 25, 2024

Associate Dean for Mentoring and Development Diane J. Litman has been recognized for her achievements in artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing.

Litman, a professor with the Department of Computer Science and a Senior Scientist with the Learning Research and Development Center, has been named a Fellow with the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA). AAIA is an academic, non-profit and non-governmental organization that aims to build a broad AI industry, bringing together scientists and entrepreneurs from around the world.

Litman and other faculty represent SCI at AAIA among Fellows from organizations like Stanford University, Princeton University, MIT, California Institute of Technology, University of Oxford, and the world’s top scientists in AI related fields from Google, Microsoft, IBM, Alibaba, and other high-tech companies.

In addition to her recognition with AAIA, Litman brings her expertise to SCI through the new Faculty Mentorship Program. Developed as part of Litman’s role as Associate Dean for Mentoring and Development, this program partners newer faculty members with mentors that advise on research, service, career development, teaching, and connecting with the SCI community.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Litman on this recognition!
