Staff member part of $300,000 NSF grant to encourage underrepresented groups to pursue STEM education
Mackenzie Ball, outreach coordinator, is one of ten partners at Pitt who was recently awarded a $300,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for their project titled, “Diversifying Access to Urban Universities for Students in STEM fields.”
This project aims to design, develop, and launch a pilot program that recruits high school students for STEM pre-collegiate programs. Five Pitt schools will be involved in the creation of this program.
