School of Computing and Information received recognition at ACM IUI 2018
We are pleased to announce that three School of Computing and Information affiliates were honored at the recent ACM Intelligent User Interfaces (IUI) conference in March.
A recent visiting scholar, Cecilia di Sciascio, won the Best Student Paper award for her joint paper with Professor Peter Brusilovsky titled, “A Study on User-Controllable Social Exploratory Search.”
Chun Hua Tsai, a PhD in Information Science candidate, received an honorable mention in Best Student Paper category for his paper titled, “Explaining Social Recommendations to Non-Expert Users: Design Principles and Opportunities.”
Denis Parra, a 2013 graduate of the PhD in Information Science program, also received an honorable mention along with his student Ivania Donoso for their paper titled, “An Interactive Relevance Feedback Interface for Evidence-Based Health Care.”
