SCI Professor Dr. Janyce Wiebe, who passed away in December 2018, and ISP alumni Theresa Wilson (PhD ’08) and Paul Hoffmann (G ’06) have been awarded the Test-of-Time award by the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) for their paper titled, “Recognizing Contextual Polarity: An Exploration of Features for Phrase-Level Sentiment Analysis.”

The ACL Test-of-Time award recognizes an influential paper or series of papers published in the last ten years that has significantly impacted research or applications in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP).

They will be honored for this achievement on Tuesday, July 30 at the ACL 2019 conference in Florence, Italy.
