Each term, we host recognition ceremonies to honor those graduating from both our undergraduate and graduate degree programs. These ceremonies includes a speech to graduates, an address from degree program representatives, and a reading of each graduate’s name.
Please note: This ceremony is separate from the annual University Commencement.
All students are welcome to bring guests to the Recognition Ceremony.
International students who would like to invite their family to attend must complete this request form for any required visa documentation.
Lodging & Transportation
We encourage you to reserve a hotel room as soon as possible if you and/or your guests have a need and plan to stay overnight in Pittsburgh during this time.
Transportation options for the University’s Oakland neighborhood include hotel shuttles (if available), public transportation, or taxi cab companies. If driving, we suggest identifying a few parking options in advance – there are various street parking and parking garage locations available throughout campus.
Dress code for the ceremony is business casual. Graduation regalia is optional. We will have a few “prop” graduation gowns available for photo opportunities.
